Resources for Catechists, Youth Ministers & Catholic School Teachers
Parish catechist and youth ministers and Catholic School teachers in the Diocese of Albany are expected to take part in the initial and ongoing catechetical formation program now under the direction of our Catholic School Office within the Vicariate of Catholic Faith Formation & Education.
Click here to view the requirements for diocesan certification for each level and track/specialty. While the vast majority of topics count for most, if not all, of the tracks, some are specific to a particular specialty.

Although the Diocese expects your parish or school to maintain the record of what courses you have taken and then submit the appropriate certification request to the Diocese, we strongly encourage all catechists, youth ministers & Catholic School Teachers to maintain their own, personal, copy of their transcript. You can download the four page transcript form for your particular track or specialty here:
Are you a catechist, youth minister or Catholic school teacher and will be attending Spring Enrichment on Friday, May 18? If so, if you have a question you'd like to ask Bishop Scharfenberger about the faith or how to present something to your class, sign up for one of his two lunchtime Q & A sessions (sessions IC1 & ID1), but make sure to submit your question using this form (or the link at the bottom of the form to do it online).
